Grand Canyon Rafting: travel May - September

Rafting the entire length of the Grand Canyon is going more than the average 1-week vacation. To get a taste of river rafting without the hiking or rougher waters, we recommend a 5-day sampler that is only 3 days of rafting and includes a helicopter ride into the canyon and a day at a working dude ranch. With it's shorter duration and easier pace, this is terrific multi-generational active family vacation.

We always advise our clients to book their trips a full year in advance and the Grand Canyon is no exception. In December, there is typically space left on these shorter trips with more dates available to suit your schedule.

Alaska: travel May - September

Alaska is on many people's Bucket List and for good reason. The scenery, the wildlife, the culture is unlike anything else.

If you missed the big October sale, you'll have another opportunity, come January. Figure out when you want to go, what cabin and cruising style suits you and your ideal itenerary. Once the first rolls around, you'll be ready to go and stand a better chance of getting the cabin and dates you want, at a good deal.

In December, everyone is just starting to think about next year's summer vacation. If a popular destination such as the Galapagos Islands is on your wish list for the following year, beat the crowd and book in December. You'll have the best selection of accommodations to fit your entire family, especially if you are considering something such as a yacht or catamaran, where space is limited and options are fewer.

Ireland: travel June - August

Ireland just keeps getting more and more popular with it being the "big summer vacation" destination for many Americans.

Given how popular Ireland has become as a destination, for best choice, you want to book in December for travel the following year. By January, the best hotels have sold out for the summer months and the later you wait, the great the cost. Book early for best price and availability.

Africa: travel December

The Christmas/New Year window is a popular time for travel as the kids are out of school and business tends to slow down around the holidays, making it easier to take time away from work. In the southern hemisphere, they're having summer, so if you're escaping cooler temps, then that's an added bonus. The most in-demand African safari camps have limited accommodations, so availability is always low.

This trip is definitely one to book a full-year in advance to ensure you get the dates and accommodations you wish. Most trips are sold out by January, for travel in December. Get a jump start on the crowd and book now. >
