Even the largest cabins on a ship have limited closet space. Here are a few ways that you can maximize the space in your cabin.
Select the right suitcase. On most ships, you can store a large suitcase under the bed. If you have a soft side suitcase, it may be more flexible for under bed storage.
Pack a day bag. A carry on bag that can be used for day excursions will be very handy to have. Pack what you will need for the first evening on board in case your large bag is delayed in being delivered to your cabin.
Check the cruise ship dress code. Most cruise lines have their dress code on line. Check with us if you have questions. Most ships still have formal nights, but there are always options to dining in less formal areas of the ship if you prefer not to "dress for dinner."
Board the ship in resort or casual wear. Just in case your luggage doesn't make it to your cabin in time for dinner, wear something that will be appropriate in the dining room. Be sure that your carry on has the items that you will need to freshen up for dinner.
Plan your vacation and pack accordingly. If you like to do a lot of walking, pack your favorite walking shoes. If you plan to spend a lot of time on the beach or at the ship pools, be sure to pack bathing suits and cover ups. Make a list of the activities you are planning to spend time doing, and pack accordingly.
Toiletries - Ships usually have body wash and shampoo as well as a hair dryer in every cabin. The fancier your accomodations, the more toiletries are provided.
Laundry Facilities - Many ships do have laundromats. Of course most of us don't want to do laundry on vacation, but you can check on line to see if the ship does have a laundry for passengers. Also, there is dry cleaning available on the ship.
